About Display Lab - Visual QA for Creators
Display Lab is a practical visual quality-assurance workspace for creators, designers, agencies, and teams publishing content across modern screens.
Who we are
Display Lab is an independent browser-based toolkit created by Traian Anghel in 2026. It brings common visual checks into one focused place: safe-zone previews for social platforms, WCAG color-contrast calculations, color-vision simulations, aspect-ratio measurements, batch workflows, and locally downloaded reports. The project is designed for people who need dependable answers without installing a large design application or creating an account before they can test an idea.
We serve thumbnail designers, video editors, social media managers, freelancers, educators, accessibility-minded product teams, and small agencies. Some visitors need one quick contrast ratio. Others review many campaign images and need a repeatable process. Display Lab aims to remain useful in both situations by keeping the basic workflow approachable while offering time-saving PRO capabilities for frequent users.
Why we built Display Lab
A design can be technically beautiful and still fail on the screen where people actually see it. Platform buttons can cover a headline. A television crop can remove a logo. White text can disappear over a bright image. Two chart colors can become indistinguishable for someone with a color-vision deficiency. These are small production details with real consequences: lower click-through rates, confused viewers, inconsistent branding, inaccessible communication, and avoidable revision cycles.
Creators often discover those problems only after publishing because the relevant checks are scattered across platform documentation, accessibility calculators, spreadsheets, and device mockups. Display Lab was built to shorten that gap. It makes physical display properties and interface constraints visible before export, so a creator can inspect the likely result while changes are still easy to make.
Our mission
Our mission is to help creators avoid cropped thumbnails, unreadable text, misleading color choices, and incorrect display dimensions. We believe useful technical tools should explain the result instead of merely returning a number. That is why Display Lab pairs calculations with live previews, overlays, clear pass or fail states, platform presets, and educational context.
We also believe privacy and speed belong in the product design. Wherever practical, image analysis happens inside the visitor's browser. This approach provides immediate feedback and avoids unnecessary transfers. Features that intentionally save or share information explain that action through the interface, while PRO restoration uses a simple email and API-key record rather than a complex account profile.
Part of the Physics Tools Network
Display Lab is part of the Physics Tools Network, a growing family of focused web utilities. The network also includes wavelab.tools and skymotion.tools. Each project translates a technical or physical concept into an interactive experience that is useful without specialist software.
The shared philosophy is straightforward: start with a real problem, expose the important variables, provide an immediate visual result, and explain enough of the underlying idea for users to make better decisions. Display Lab applies that philosophy to screens, pixels, luminance, aspect ratios, interface overlays, and visual perception.
Development and contact
Display Lab continues to evolve as platforms change their interfaces and creators adopt new formats. We review feedback, improve presets, and refine the tools with an emphasis on clarity and practical value. Results are intended as production guidance, and creators should still verify critical campaigns against current platform requirements before publishing.
